Earth Tone Kwali Teapot
8” from tip of spout to handle, 6.5” tall. Holds 28-30 oz. The idea behind this piece was to create a teapot based on traditional African water vessel forms. The shape of the body of this teapot comes from Gwari watter vessels from Nigeria which became more widely known through the work of Ladi Kwali.
The surface is decorated with terra sigillata made with both commercial clay and foraged clays from Louisiana and New Mexico.
