Akan Teapot
The idea behind this piece was to create a teapot based on traditional African water vessel forms. The shape of the body of this teapot comes from an Akan pot from the Ivory Coast. 8” from tip of spout to handle, 6.5” tall. Holds 32 oz. or four cups of tea. Wheel thrown red stoneware clay decorated with carving, slip trailing and the application of small, incised coils. Glazed matte off-white with matte aqua accents.
