Kwali Teapot
The idea behind this piece was to create a teapot based on traditional African water vessel forms. The shape of the body of this teapot comes from Gwari watter vessels from Nigeria which became more widely known through the work of Ladi Kwali.
Wheel thrown red stoneware clay decorated by carving, stamping and slip trailing. Glazed matte off-white with gloss green accents. 8” from tip of spout to handle, 7.5” tall. Holds 32 oz.
