Smoked Wave Bowl III
This sculptural bowl was made with wild clay from Sarasota, FL that I collected and processed myself. This piece was coil built slowly by hand rather than on the potter’s wheel. After building it and firing the pot in an electric kiln, it was partially blackened with smoke by firing it a second time in a saggar with sawdust. The off-white color near the rim is the color of the fired clay before it’s been smoked. The surface has been sealed with beeswax.
This piece is fragile and is not to be used as dishware. Dimensions: 8”x8”x5”
